Il Pirata Menu
Il Pirata is a restaurant, pizzeria, sandwich shop and brewery in Montano Lucino (CO) that offers a selection of first courses and second courses, as well as a wide choice of classic, seasonal and special pizzas, sandwiches, piadinas and focaccias, all accompanied by an excellent variety of draft and bottled beers.
Briefing
The challenge of this project was to organize such a vast food and wine offer in an attractive menu, which reflected the aesthetics of the place and was also easy to consult and enjoy.
The clientele of the place can be said to be truly varied in terms of age and social background, it is in fact a place for families but also a pub much loved by young and old in the area. The restaurant has wooden boards used as a support and “screw” binding of the sheets constituting the menu.
Menu Cover and back
For the menu cover, a vector illustration of a galleon with the geographic coordinates of the restaurant was chosen to be printed in 30% transparent white on matt black laminated cardboard.
On the back cover, a poetic inscription with a pirate and adventure theme with all the restaurant’s contacts and a QR code for the link to the digital version of the menu on the website.
Menu Body
The same font family used for the restaurant’s corporate image was used for the internal pages of the menu.
The pages of the menu’s body are printed in black and white on “flora” paper to give an “antique” character and give the sensation of holding a “treasure map” in your hands, in line with the restaurant’s storytelling. Transparent illustrations with a pirate-like character were then added.
The pages feature die-cutting on the right edge of the menu for more immediate navigation of the restaurant’s food and wine offering sections.
Social Advertising
To advertise the release of the new menu for the 2023/2024 winter season on the restaurant’s Instagram profile, a triptych of pinned posts composed of media carousels was chosen. The carousels were composed of videos and photos of the dishes from the new menu and of loyal customers intent on consulting it.
